Connecting to production database disrupted

    After speaking with our database provider (MongoDB), we now have full clarity of the issue. The issue appeared due to our server still using stale DNS cache entries, which were not used by MongoDB anymore. This happened in combination with a misconfigured server health endpoint, which we use to check if our server is reachable and the database connection established.

    We have learned from this and improved the system accordingly.

    This incident has been resolved.

    For about 2 hours, we had issues connecting to our main database (MongoDB).

    While the issue is now resolved, we are still investigating with MongoDB what caused the outage and how to make sure it doesn't happen again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
